Hungarian Central Bank Announces Increase in Gold Reserves

The Hungarian National Bank has joined the growing number of central banks globally, increasing their gold reserves.

In a recent press release, Hungary’s central bank announced it has increased its gold holdings from 94.5 tons to 110 tons this year.

“The increase in the gold reserve was supported by the further strengthening of the global economic, geopolitical, and capital market processes that led to the appreciation of the role of gold in recent years.”

According to the press release, the Hungarian bank now has the highest gold reserves per capita in Central and Eastern Europe.

India is set to launch an international pilot project for Digi Yatra in June 2025, which will introduce facial recognition technology and e-passports for foreign nationals travelling to and from the country.

The system utilises facial recognition technology to verify passenger identities at various checkpoints, including check-in, security and boarding gates.

Key features of Digi Yatra are integration with e-passports and facial recognition technology for automated passenger processing at airports with potential expansion to hotels, rail travel and public places such as historical monuments in the future. Initial discussions have been held with the Ministry of Railways for potential expansion to rail travel.

Dubai’s Emirates Airlines is the first major carrier outside of Lebanon to ban all passengers from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies on its flights, citing the dangers of last month’s exploding pagers and electronic devices attacks in Beirut.

“All passengers traveling to, from, or via Dubai are prohibited from transporting pagers and walkie-talkies in checked or cabin baggage,” the airline has announced in a statement on its website. It said this is part of enhanced security measures which will result in the confiscation of any prohibited items by Dubai Police.

The reports said that some of them even allowed ‘transgender’ males to use girls’ bathrooms and to room with girls on overnight trips.

A parental rights organization identified the school districts that socially “transition” gender-confused students behind parents’ backs as a matter of policy, in some cases even bringing in attorneys to “work through” potential conflict with parental-rights laws.
